Going Out Dress Trends Summer 2012

When shopping for your going out dress you will find you have lots of choices available all of which focus on different trends. You may have already established your favourite trend for the season and seeking out the latest dresses which fit into the trend but if not here is a look into the trends for going out dresses for Summer 2012.

Peplums – It is hard to miss the peplum trend this season with these little additions made to a range of dresses, skirts and tops! It’s very easy to pick up a formal peplum dress which is more suited to the office but a bit of searching may lead you to a fun dress suitable for a night out. Alternatively you could take a little black peplum dress and team it with the right hair, makeup, accessories and heels.

Dip Hems – Quickly taking the dress crown from the maxi, dip hem dresses are massively increasing in popularity and are all over the high street, even Tesco dresses have a beautiful selection available in bold colours of the summer! Dip hem dresses look great with heels for a night out and as they are so versatile team with a pair of flats to way during the day.

Animal Print – This is an everlasting trend at the minute which has been in for several seasons, however now the designers are exploring more than just the leopard with new prints such as the Zebra and Ocelot appearing on maxi and mini dresses from designer and high street brands. If you don’t want to go as far as a whole animal print dress team a little black or even red dress with animal print shoes and a clutch.

Baroque – If you want a bold, colourful going out dress then take a look at the Baroque print that is available on typically bodycon dresses from retailers such as Motel and River Island.

Lace – Lace dresses can take a sexy or vintage inspired route depending on the occasion and your own particular style. The staple black and cream laces are still available but this season coloured, either neon or pastel pink and blue lace are taking the spotlight!
